Tummala Directs Immediate Action to Streamline Paddy Procurement

Hyderabad: Minister for Agriculture, Tummala Nageswara Rao has issued directives to Telangana State Warehousing Corporation’s in-charge MD Uday Kumar, and Agros MD Ramulu, to ensure smooth paddy procurement, transportation, and storage processes across the Telangana State.

The Minister emphasised that all necessary equipment should be readily available at procurement centers throughout the Telangana State.

In a press release here on Wednesday, Tummala Nageswara Rao instructed Agros MD Ramulu to coordinate with the Civil Supplies and Marketing departments to ensure a seamless procurement experience for farmers.

He also recommended setting up more grain cleaning units at procurement centers as needed, depending on the volume of paddy being brought in.

The Minister also reviewed the current storage capacity at all godowns, with an emphasis on ensuring regional availability to accommodate the newly acquired paddy.

Directing the Marketing and Warehousing officials to coordinate the prompt transfer of paddy from purchase centers to storage facilities, he instructed the officials to maintain regular communication with Civil Supplies authorities and offer necessary support in transporting the stock.

Stating that currently, the Telangana State has 2.95 million metric tonnes of storage capacity, the Minister emphasised that officials should increase the capacity in line with procurement needs.
